About Nicola Clarke
In recent years industry has had to become leaner in order to survive in the global manufacturing market. At the same time environmental legislation is introducing new pressures to businesses, with non-compliance often having dire consequences. Large and small companies alike often find that they do not have the in-house technical support to deal with the increasing depth of legislation. I am an independent Environmental Consultant specialising in process regulation and can help your company to understand the requirements of the legislation and to establish strategies and solutions to meet and exceed the requirements.
After graduating with an Environmental Science degree in 1994 I worked as an Environmental Technologist at a large non-ferrous metal manufacturing company. During 8 years of employment I progressed to senior management level, taking responsibility for the Environmental, Health and Safety department. During that time I had vast exposure to a number of legislative issues, including IPPC (and IPC), packaging regulations, waste management licensing, due diligence, classification of hazardous goods, and many more.
In 2003 I established a consultancy business. My assignments range from long-term partnerships to provide on-going management support to short-term projects to satisfy a particular legislative requirement. I have delivered consultancy to both small and large companies throughout the UK and have good experience in a broad range of industry sectors.
